Moore county is located in Central North Carolina. It is approximately 1 hour southwest of Raleigh, 2 hours from the beach and 3 hours from the mountains. There are many equestrian events
throughout the area. Pinehurst Harness Track offers a variety of events from
Hunter-Jumper trials to Dressage
Schooling shows. Carolina Horse Park,
Southern Pines Horse Country and Individual Farms also offer a variety of
events.
Walking and hiking are popular activities
here in Moore County. The Southern Pines
Reservoir Park has miles of walking trails.
Other areas near by for nature hiking include Weymouth Woods and Uwharrie
State Park. The Village of Pinehurst and
the Town of Southern Pines also offer
community walking trails.

Sandhills Community College offers
continuing education as well as beautiful
Horticultural Gardens open for viewing by
the public. There are a variety of gardens
to see as you stroll through the well
maintained walkways. Some of these
include succulent, English and water
gardens.
Tennis is also a popular activity here in
Pinehurst. There are several Private clubs
as well as public courts. Some players
enjoy social events such as mixed
doubles evenings and others enjoy a
more competitive edge while participating
in USTA sanctioned league and tournament events.


There are private lakes that offer a variety
of water activities including boating,
fishing, tubing, swimming or just enjoying
the water front views. These lakes are
located in the gated communities of Seven
Lakes and McLendon Hills or in the Village
of Pinehurst. There are other lakes nearby
with public fishing and boating.
